Plant Tours

Every year, IISE Concordia organizes two plant tours; one per semester. The goal of these plant tours is to introduce students to the different opportunities that are available in the Industrial Engineering field. Our goal is to expose students to the types of environments in which they can expect to work in once they graduate. We’re also passionate about showing students how theoretical engineering concepts are applied in real word company settings.

Next plant tour will be held through the fall semester and will be announced very soon!

In the Fall of 2013, students had the opportunity to visit the Bombardier Challenger Plant.

Students LOVED IT! It was a great experience; one that will surely be remembered.

Bombardier Plant Tour 2013

In the Fall of 2014, Concordia students had the opportunity to visit the Canada Post Léo-Blanchette Plant.

There’s a lot going on at Canada Post. If you haven’t thought of them as a place to gain real, valuable engineering experience, think again! This multi-billion dollar Crown Corporation is working hard to modernize its postal systems and play a larger and more valuable role in the lives of Canadians.

For the first time ever, students from Concordia University had the opportunity to visit this Class A plant (there are only three like it in the country!).

This tour gave students the opportunity to see how theoretical engineering concepts, such a lean manufacturing, are applied in a real world company setting. The tour was lead by industrial engineers, experts in their field, currently working in the process engineering department.
